River of Life Church

River of Life Church has long been involved with many sister organizations so that together we might glorify our Father in Heaven.  Many of these charities operate locally, others are based in other lands.  Regardless of the location, the central focus of all these relationships is that we might reach others with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Listed below are some of those with whom we work, whether that involves hands-on activites or financial support.  Prayerfully consider how God might use you in these partnerships.

ON THE LOCAL SCENE:

GOD'S PIT CREW - This Danville-based team runs to render aid following natural disasters or other crises.  2011 has been a very busy year.  Some of our church members also work with "the crew".  Visit www.GodsPitCrew.org

GOOD NEWS JAIL & PRISON MINISTRY - This international ministry has a local chapter that works in Danville's and Pittsylvania County's detention facilities providing ministry and Bible study for prisoners, and comfort, care, and contact for those on both sides of the bars.  Our own Kelly Herndon serves as Good News' local Administrative Assistant. little life PREGNANCY MEDICAL CTR. - Our church was one of the founding organizations of this vital ministry to women with unplanned or crisis pregnancies.  They provide support to post-abortive women, and work hard to protect the unborn.  We have remained active in their ministry.  Visit www.littlelifepmc.org

DANVILLE'S HOUSE OF HOPE - The Danville area's sole shelter for the homeless, this ministry is a result of the working together of a large group of churches, businesses, and individuals who share a common interest: "In as much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done unto me."  Working together and in conjunction with Danville's emergency departments, people lacking a permanent residence are temporarily housed and fed.  Visit www.DanvilleHoH.com

ROXBORO'S YOUTH FOR CHRIST - Reaching the youth of Person, Caswell, and Pittsylvania Counties as well as Roxboro City, YFC works to present the message of Jesus Christ and to shape young lives into young adults who will follow Christ.  Through various activities and camps, some of which are held at RLC's Missions Center, YFC is changing a generation.

THE GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL - This organization of Christian laymen volunteers has a single goal: to place the written Word of God in as many locations and with as many persons as humanly possible.  We partner with The Gideons with annual gifts as well as memorial gifts when a relative or friend of the church passes away.  Together, over the years we have placed more than 1,000 copies of the Holy Bible in hotels, jails, schools, the military, hospitals and other public gathering places.

AROUND THE WORLD:

NEW LIFE CHURCH (BISERICA RENASTEREA), CLUJ-NAPOCA, ROMANIA - This Evangelical church was founded in partnership with a missionary sent from River of Life Church and has served the university students and families of Cluj for more than a decade.  They remain an intricate part of the ministry of RLC with regular visits to and from Cluj, support for various aspects of their ministry, and, alongside Paso Robles Bible Church of Paso Robles, CA,  sponsorship of their current pastor, Daniel Gruian and his family.

   A major emphasis launched Oct. 16, 2011 is to secure funding to complete construction on Pastor Dani's home.  Our goal is to raise $15,000 as soon as possible to relieve the pressure on his family's budget and on the congregation of New Life Church.  Donations should be sent to:

BETHANIE EVANG. MISSION OF HAITI - Bethanie represents the first foreign mission involvement of our church.  Since 1983 we have supported their ministries to children, their feeding programs and schools.  The earthquake of 2010 brought a new level of ministriy to Bethanie as they worked to render aid to the victims near the epicenter of the disaster.  Pastor Ignace Augustin, founder and long-term leader of Bethanie, along with his wife, Frenchette, work tirelessly overseeing more than 40 churches in that island nation.  Visit their site www.bethaniemission.org
